Beautiful Places To Visit In Male

The city of Male is very characteristic and goes beyond a simple tourist destination with paradisiacal beaches, never forgetting the history and culture of a city or a country that we want to visit. We cannot ignore in our visit the fish and fruit market, or the Singapore Bazaar, which is very popular for the sale of traditional artisan products made by locals.

Maldives Atolls

The main reason for many travelers to visit the Maldives is to get lost in the thousand-toned blue beaches in the multiple atolls that are in its territory, in the middle of the Indian Ocean. With my friends, we stayed in several resorts during our trip and in each and every one of us we were overwhelmed with peace and tranquility. Male also has some very popular beaches such as the beach of Isla del Sol, Paradise Island, Royal Island Resorts, and lastly the beach od Fuammulak. And if you are looking for a little more relaxation, good beaches and restaurants to eat, we recommend visiting Hukhumale.

Islamic Center and Great Friday Mosque

Opened in 1984 and financed by the countries of the Gulf, Pakistan, Brunei, and Malaysia, the Great Friday Mosque is a spectacular white building in which it highlights its spectacular golden dome. This marble religious building has become a symbol of the city; nevertheless it is also a very big mosque! Its minaret that looks like a space rocket is striking and is in a square full of charm. Great Mosque of Friday of Male can be visited between 9 and 5 pm, provided there is no prayer.

National Museum

This is actually in the Sultan Park, the reason National Museum is here because it was once the Palace of the Sultan, but now it is renovated and transformed into a museum. It preserves an important part of the Maldives' historical and cultural heritage and exhibits valuables such as fabrics and manuscript papers or costumes used by different kings and queens. We can also find in your collection tunics, weapons, and armor, anthropological objects, elements carved in stone and old photographs. This is indeed a marvelous place to see!

Male Artificial Beach

In Male, you can go to the beach, even if it's artificial. The only beach in the Maldives capital was created on purpose and although you will not be able to bathe in a bikini (this is still a Muslim country) you can soak your feet and enjoy the horizon. Maldivians like to see people go by, so do like them, get down and sit down for a while to see how the kids enjoy the water. Male has a small artificial beach that, although it has nothing to do with the beaches that you can find in the rest of Maldives, it can serve to alleviate the suffocating heat, in case of having to spend more time in the capital. It is not allowed to swim in a bikini on this beach.
