One of the most admired and demanded tourist destination in Pacific is French Polynesia. It consists of 118 islands covering an area of 6400 square kilometers. The beauty of South Pacific is enhanced by rugged cliffs, volcanic peaks and emerald lagoons which altogether present breath-taking and fantastic scenery. These islands are situated amongst the blue lakes where the attractive bungalows lie on stilts giving the tourists a tropical paradise. Tahiti:
Tahiti is the largest island of French Polynesia in the region of South Pacific Ocean. The island consists of two volcanic cones, Tahiti Iti and Tahiti Nui which are joined by the Isthmus of Taravao. In the neighbor of Tahiti lies the magnificent island of Moorea at a distance of 12 miles in the northwest direction. The island is 403 square miles long which is almost one-third of the total area. The administrative center and capital of Tahiti is Papeete which lies on the northwestern coast. The natural vegetation of this area includes pandanus, coconut palms, tropical fruit trees, and hibiscus. The land of Tahiti is mountainous and craggy with mountains like Roniu with an altitude of 1323 meters on Tahiti Iti and Mount Orohena on Tahiti Nui with a height of 2237 meters. There are many swift streams in the area of which Papenoo is the largest one. It is situated in the north and moves downwards to the coast.
Bora Bora:
Bora Bora is an eye-catching volcano situated on worlds beautiful lagoon-which has countless shades of blue. The emerald lagoon having multicolored corals and myriad fish are encircled by coconut trees and beautiful sandy beaches.
